Is our tornado warning system good enough?

I think it's pretty decent, given that it's not still not well known exactly how tornadogenesis works. Sure, we can see a mesocyclone on radar, but there are times when one spins up rapidly, especially if it's one embedded in a squall line, in which case, it can drop one and then lift back up in less time than it takes for a radar scan. In the case of the May tornado that hit my neighboring city, the storm only started rotating 15 minutes beforehand after being a small storm prior to making landfall off of Lake Michigan and it only flagged a TVS pretty much as it happened as that was when the scan completed.

I do. Though I've never been under one, the enhanced wording alone would make me find substantial structure, if not go under ground. I've read it has saved many lives, though.
